Security Camera Does Not Have A Steady Charge Repaired. PT-848
A guy next door brought me a security camera for repair. The main fault it does not charge steadily which means every time the charging cable is touched the camera does not charge and the charging light goes of which indicates either a faulty charging port or loose connection pins there.
When I checked the charging port under a microscope I did not find any broken pin inside so most likely the issue is loose pins on that port.
There were no screws on the outside of body of the camera so I applied some pressure and it was open right away;
I could see the fault very clear inside just like I suspected.
Two screws holding that board were taken out and I put it under a microscope and I could see all the pins were loose and needed some fresh solder on it.
As I did that and put everything back together, the camera came on and the head of the camera started to rotate in circles indicating a fixed working camera.
I applied some pressure to the charging cable but the charging light remained steady and it was charging fine.
The customer was happy with the outcome and he picked it up right away because he is next door to me.
He installed it back in his shop and checked the monitor; it was working fine and to that I could say
Mission Accomplished.

Good job! It in a way is odd to know that we now started using usb ports to power up and charge devices when we know they are weak and not as sturdy as the old power input jacks we normally used in the pre-usb days.

Easy win Waleed.
A right angle micro-USB cable may be what's needed to prevent future strain on that port.

Tayo: yes it was an easy fix and I am happy with that. it is not just the right the right charger, cable or the charging port itself it is also about the user issue they always abuse their devices...have a blessed day
