Three CCTV SMPS Saved From Dump
These three SMPS were brought by a CCTV service provider in a dead condition.
Case (1) Model CP-DPS-MD100-12D
As you can see, the capacitors in the output area were bulged. I checked the SMPS transformer with the Ring tester, which showed healthy. Looked for any burnt or other defective components in the primary and secondary and did not find any.
So, replaced all the electrolytic capacitors, retouched the board and cleaned it. Then applied power with a load of 12V/25W bulb. It worked very well.
Case (2) Model JBN1205
After checking and ensuring that the primary and secondary was ok like before, I replaced all the electrolytic capacitors, retouched the board thoroughly and cleaned it using IPA as usual.
Then applied power to see that it worked very well:
Case (3) Model Kenson IC S-120-12
In this SMPS, I found both switching transistors short, Fuse blown, diodes short and the capacitors were bulged. After removing all defective components, when I checked the SMPS using Ring Tester, it showed healthy. So, I replaced them, retouched the board and cleaned it thoroughly using IPA. Then it was found working very well.
Thus, these three ‘musketeers’ were back to the field for protecting and support!
Missions accomplished very well and added to the collection bag one after another.
