TV POWER BUTTON GOT STUCK REPAIR

This tv was brought to me with complaints of not powering on, in fact the power button was dangling at tv front. I remove back case of tv and clean inside, then try to power it but red standby light didn’t change, so check on press button, which was hard to press, it has rust.

I then changed it with new one, use J.B Weld glue to glue plastic holder to its right position.

Then I power the tv, it came on, so I then press the side micro buttons for vol, channels….etc, they were all defective (responding intermittently) so I pull it out and check on them with meter all bad, found the soldering side also has cold solder.

I changed all buttons with new ones and resolder.

Reassembled everything and powered on, press all buttons….all responded very well and tv is now working well now, I’m sorry I forgot to snap the working tv.

These probably 6x6 micro side buttons that were used here are luckily not expensive and easy to replace. Recently I bought a few of those larger 12x12 tactile micro push buttons for controlling my DIY turn table project for 3D scanning. Those are more robust and mechanicle click better and likely will not get stuck so easily.
