world cup

Usually i get lots of emails everyday but somehow i noticed that today i got very less email. This most probably due to the World Cup football match between Brazil and Holland (Netherlands) yesterday. I knew that there were lots of Brazil supporter around the world thus they might have spend their time watching the football. For your information my family, friends and i also have watched this match yesterday. Ghana already lose to Uruguay because of the penalty kick. Guess which country that will win the 2010 World Cup? I choose Argentina what about you?

if brazil stayed in they would have beaten Argentina and take the cup but at this point, this world cup is carzy..we do not know who will win but we can guess. who would have guessed that Brazil would leave the world cup so soon. again, it is crazy..

Brazil stars KaKa and Robinho may have silky individual skills but they are no leaders. Brazil sorely missed the play making of Ronaldinho who has returned to form of late.
Soccer is still very much a team sport. I would not count out Spain and Germany at this point. Both have strong team players.

The young German team is emerging as the Cinderella of World Cup 2010. I was impressed by how they took England apart in group 16 match. You see team play and unselfishness in all of their goals. We are witnessing boys becoming world class players.
Germany was beaten by Spain in 2008 Euro Cup. It is now their turn. Too bad Mueller was yellow carded for hand ball and will miss the match against Spain.
Klose and Mueller each has 14 World Cup goals. They will over take all-time top goalscorer Brazil's Ronaldo (with 15). Mueller is only 21 and may become Germany's Ronaldinho.

    HI Sam,

The Germans are tall, have the speed and the skill and you are right they are not selfish and they work as a team as compare to certain countries where some of the players would not pass the ball to their buddies.

Nobody seems to have seen the German team coming! I thought it would be Brazil or Argentina to take the crown here I must admit, but now think it will be Germany. Am going to the Holland vs Uragauy game here tonight and expect to be deaf for the rest of the week. Hoping Holland thrash them.

The Dutch didn't entirely deserve the win because they were allowed an offside goal. Dutch player Robin Van Persie, in an offside position, interfered with the play by blocking the goalie's field of vision and screening out another Uruguay defender. The goalie never saw the ball which wasn't even hit that hard. Van Persie didn't touch the ball but that doesn't matter as he was in a position to deflect the ball making him an active player in that attack.
Holland is now guaranteed at least the second place although I doubt they can beat either Spain or Germany.

Germany should prevail. I hope for a close game and not lopsided. Both teams are not at full strength possibly making the match less exciting. Germany's Mueller was out due to red card. Spanish striker Fernando Torres has not not fully recovered from April knee surgery. Torres scored the only goal when Spain defeated Germany in the 2008 European Championship final.

    Hi Jestine

Did you stay up late for today's semifinal ? Spain pressured Germany the entire match. Their relentless attack eventually broke the mighty German defense.

Spain is the more dominant team and their players are more creative, their moves come automatically. There is something about Spain that brings out the worst in the Germans.

Spain is simply the better team.
