Normally Flash lights comes in two to three working Mode this switch is used for two working mode.

1) Long-distance with small angle focus area.

2) Short-distance with wide angle focus area.

(Coverage angle & distance of light focus is depending on Lenses & glass used in the torch).

Opened the switch to check working mechanism I found the arrangement inside as follows.

In my last article I shared wiring diagram about “Article on Rechargeable LED Head Torch Repair”.

https://jestineyong.com/rechargeable-led-head-torch-repair/

On switch manufacturer put one 10Ω Resistor to bifurcate two working mode.

IN CLICK 1 – Current is directly applied to the LED hence LED will draw full current as per rating of the LED & it light up with its full intensity by giving long distance light on small angle focus.

IN CLICK 2 – Current is passing through 10 Ohm Resistor so that LED can draw current as per current limiting by the resistor by giving short distance light on wide angle focus.

IN CLICK 3 – No contacts between any terminal & switch remain OFF.

Thanks for the clear explanation Yogesh. I already thought it had to be a changeover switch in your previous article but never had seen this 3 option pushbutton switch before!
    Good to know they exist!
