About Current Repair Business
I was asked by few of my repair friends and even from the ERG members about my repair business. I told them that the business was a bit slow because of the holiday season and now it already back to normal. For your information it was quite normal during the holiday season every year to experience lower repair rate. That’s why when setting up a repair business you have to take into the consideration of this holiday season so that your company will sustain otherwise you will face some difficulty especially in the cash flow.
Somehow i could see that the year 2009 will brings us more business as many companies/consumers have chosen to repair their equipment rather than chuck it away and buy a new one. This most probably due to the current economic situation where budget spent on new equipment will be reduce and opt for repair and maintain the equipment. I’m not sure about your country but here i guess we will be receiving more equipment for repair.
Back in 1997/98 although at that time the economic situation was not that good our repair business was not affected at all and even have more profit! So continue to make yourself better than yesterday, continue to find more clients, continue to give better service and i’m very sure your repair business will even grow better in this hard time-All the best to you.

Dear Mr. Yong, if not secret, how many repair jobs you have per day?

Hi Mladen,
Averaging more than 10 items perday and it depends on months and season because our country consisted of three major races thus there will be lots of holiday. Two weeks from now our company will be close for 10 days to celebrate Chinese New Year and of course this will have affected the total overall volume of the items that sent for repair for this month.

Hi Jestine:
One factor always to consider is availability of parts. Are you finding the parts to be more difficult to obtain in the plasma / LCD era than in the CRT? Remember www.parts-link is always there for technicians who want to make a difference. Steve

Hi Mladen,
I guess you have to start a topic in any of your favorite repair forum and see how it goes. There are a repair forum in http://www.eserviceinfo.com and you can try to post the subject there. Hope this helps!
