Just One Bad LED Caused Shut Down Problem
My neighbor brought his dead LED light bank for repair. I noticed that it does not have a power plug on it and when I looked inside the LED bank, I saw the fault right away.
Do you see it? One of the LED light has a dark mark inside of it.
Because of his bad open LED light, the whole LED bank went into shut down.
If I want it done the easy way, I just take the open LED light out and replace it with a tiny wire and the LED light bank will come alive again. From experience, that kind of repair will not last long so I am doing it the right and still any easy way to do. Let us begin.
One of these LED lights I used to replace that open one on that light bank. I usually order them online or sometimes I de solder them off the many boards I have in the shop.
Today I am using brand new ones to fix this LED light bank.
Using my hot workstation I heated the open LED light and replaced it with brand new one. I used flux for this process and if you look to the photo displayed you could see the flux left over still on board. I usually clean all the flux off before putting everything back together.
I cleaned all the flux off and before I put everything back together I powered the LED Light bank on and as you can see it came one so bright that I was seeing light spots even after the lights were off.
This was tested, cleaned and put together product; to that I can say…

This repair proves the fact that the old pre-smd leds I used to buy for 75 cent a piece in the old days were much more reliable than these modern high bright smd leds of today.
From the old leds they said that they had a life span of about 1 million working hours. And they may not have been as bright but they sure never failed working!
What not can be said of these new smd leds sadly. I'm sure that the defect smd led never had so many working hours. Although it only was one of 50 of them it caused 49 leds (with probably all also less than 1 million hour life span) to no longer work.

This is your second and incorrect post
These LEDs are being driven beyond the design specifications or the input voltage fluctuated to lead to the failure.
You can’t just seduce from a failed LED that is poor build quality mate, you were not there to observe and measure the situation.
Modern TVs have high LED failure rate because they are run at 100% capacity for long durations which they simple are not design for.
DRIVE the led with the correct or less current = prevents shortening the lifespan

That is exactly my point Aqib. They are almost always used beyond their maximum specification and therefore always cause problems. Like you said also in backlight of TVs and fail more often than the old backlight tubes or crt tubes ever did! So why they never have a decent life span.
