Silenced A Chattering Voltage Stabilizer
When the inter-district movements were eased after a very long control due to pandemic situation, we visited our relative staying around 250Kms away. Whenever I visited my relatives, I never missed a chance to take up something for repair.
Though my relative had a few items, she only wanted to get this stabilizer repaired during the two day stay we had there. I had no tools with me. But her second son, who is now a practicing Ayurveda Doctor, was an electronic enthusiast and had almost everything that I wanted including some spares. So, I opened the stabilizer and looked for defective components, after doing a thorough cleaning of inside.
One Zener diode, a couple of transistors, a few electrolytic capacitors were all found to be faulty. A few resistors were also defective, as the values had gone high. The doctor went to an electronic shop nearby and fetched all the components required, with which I replaced these defective components.
The following pictures are taken for those of you who might be interested:
The stabilizer worked very well, after all these replacements and here is the picture as a proof:
Here is the picture of the components replaced:
So, can I not conclude by saying ‘mission accomplished and satisfaction got added to its collection bag?’

Traveling 250 Kms back and forth was a very long trip but well spent! Although it probably was more likely a trip forth and back?
