A Tiny SAT Receiver With Broken LNB Connection Repaired
A guy brought this SAT receiver for repair and the fault was a broken LNB connection. I have done many of these receivers before and they are very easy to do.
A very cheap Sat receiver but that customer wanted to be repaired and that is why I am here to help people out.
The customer brought the broken connection with him and that is ok
because if this broken piece was missing, I have plenty of them in the shop.
Two screws to come off and I was able to see the inside of the SAT receiver.
I had to de solder all these pin to get the metal piece out to re solder the broken connection.
Thank God for the helping hands when doing such soldering work.
It took me a while to solder back the connector but finally it was done and it was time to put it back inside the receiver and test it out.
That is inside the receiver and the arrow aims where the hot pin should be soldered on to work.
That is the final soldering job before it was soldered back inside the receiver.
Finally, it was soldered back on board and everything seems to be in good order. I tested it out and sorry, I forget to take a photo of it but trust me it worked just fine.
That is the finished job before the customer came in for pick up. It was up and running and the customer was happy.
Mission Accomplished.

Good fix Waleed but Im puzzled as to why the customer would (potentially) spend more money fixing this Sat box than it would cost to buy another one...

I tried to find some specs of this small satellite receiver but it was very hard to find. But I guess it does not have a simcard cardreader slot for receiving encrypted tv channels and it therefore only receives the FTA channels. But on the box I noticed that it does have the PVR recording option. Which is something I prefer like on my older Dreambox dm800hd se receiver.

Well done, and cheaper than buying a new one i'm sure.
The throw away culture needs to stop and it is people such as you that keep electronics going and prevents unnecessary waste 🙂

Good repair Waleed.Can main board problem of these receivers be repaired. I tried many times but I couldn't.
