Saved A Lovely Antique Cassette Radio Model SONY CFS208S From Dump
This set was picked up from scrap yard and brought by a customer, with a request to see whether it can be restored to working condition. The set was totally dead when checked up. After opening and cleaning the inside thoroughly, I brought the body and ‘viscera’ to my service table to study the extent of damages.
There were dark marks on the board in some places and the tank capacitor was found strained. The volume control pot was worn out and did not make contact in some places. First I replaced all the electrolytic cap and then replaced the 6 track Volume pot and tried.
The set got its life again and worked in Radio mode. The customer refused to have the tape deck rectified to cut cost as he was not going to use it. This saved some of my precious time though sullied the enthusiasm in the work.
Sony is very well known for its speaker quality and this was no exception. The Radio was damn good and all stations were picked up very well.
I tried the set for several hours before giving delivery to the customer. Mission, of-course, accomplished with nourished satisfaction getting added.

Your frequent valuable work for the hospital showed in this repair with latin words like ‘viscera’ (lol).
