Revisit Of A Thomson Three-In-One Model VTM2400 After Nine Years

This set, which belonged to a Famous Film Director and renowned artist, had visited me in September, 2015 for the same problem, i.e., the turntable does not turn. I had replaced the belt right in front of the customer as it was very easy.
We have to just remove the lock of the top wheel on which the gramophone records are placed for play and lift it gently, upon which we can see the motor and other mechanism underneath. Let us have a look:
The belt is under the top wheel, which I forgot to click before replacing the belt.
I replaced the belt of a suitable size upon which the turntable was found working very well in 33 and 45 speeds, for which the customer had brought two records for testing.
Mission accomplished which resulted in satisfaction getting added to the collection bag!
P.S : You might wonder why I did not dismantle the whole set, clean the inside thoroughly and replace all the caps! The customer was using this only as a reference antique piece for demo to visitors and did not want me to do any adventure with it! (LOL)

Good job! I am glad that my old Sony turntable is a direct drive player that doesn't use or needs any belts. And it is as new since it is hardly ever used now. (a new matching needle for these turntables is also hard to get these days I suppose. Why I also keep it in this condition. And because I hardly play any music at home).

Some of these are collected and preserved many times without use just to meet our craze for antique products! I too have a few in my collection, which are seldom used! Anyhow, we technicians do thrive on such people! Many thanks for your comments and input, dear Albert!
Just search in Amazon or Ebay, you might get the needles!

good job man. I never had the chance to work on such device but kind of surprising that it worked after the belt was replaced? so it power was reaching inside of the device but it was not spinning? thanks for sharing and have a blessed day

Yes, power indeed was there. Spinning was not taking place because of a loose belt! Many thanks, dear friend!
