Visit To Car Factory
Today my partner and I went to a foreign car assembly factory in Shah Alam. Before we were allowed to enter the maintenance workshop we were asked to wear safety boot, safety helmet and a jacket that have the word "Visitor". The reason we went there was because we were asked if we could repair certain circuit boards for their welding control timer board. After careful inspection of the SMPS board, it should not be a problem in repairing it because most of the parts can be found from the market except the switch mode transformer. The board are using the PWM UC3844 IC, TL431, CNY82 opto and a common power FET. This SMPS board is powered by 24 VAC instead of the 230 VAC. Besides the SMPS board they also passed to us another type of boards for other type of machine. They asked us to repair the 4 boards first and will continue to give use more boards if we could repair the 4 boards. Please click Read More to see the photos:

Hi Arjunaidi,
I did not bring any tools because the management wanted to see us and check if we could repair the boards or not. I told them that i have to bring the boards back and will let them know later. I have just ordered a 24 volt transformer just to power up the SMPS.

Wow should be a big job for you Master, by the look at these boards for you Jestine is not a problem , regarding the transformer it's always the difficult part. In repairing when there is no such spare parts then no matter how good we are it's still no use, like a phrase can see but cannot eat haha. have u try the China market for the spares, if u need i can show u some, maybe u also have known the dealers already. You are right, if no parts no matter how good you are there is nothing can do about it. At current moment i did not source parts from China because i do not have a big quantity. I would usually source from the local supplier. Yes you can forward to me the address to my email and i appreciate for that.

Hello,need some info please.I have a SMPS with UA3844 4N25 TL413
Supply does not start,checked all parts and changed
UA3844 and Mosfet.Any help?
Also need the underlayer component layout and I'd,diodes
May be reversed.

Make sure the power IC is receiving good voltage and that no shorted secondary diodes as well.

The way I see those boards are basic ckts. Im sure you can do it. Im 99.9 sure you can do it, except those xformers if those are avail.
