Thanks for these very important tips Mr.Jestine , I have gotten something here. There is a time I was repairing TV power supply from another technician and I was not able to repair it even after checking all the components on the power supply and tested good.
Now I know there could be a component which could have been installed wrongly...
Another incident I got a DVD from another technician with “no disc symptoms” and everything seems ok to but still there is this error.
By coincidence when I was about to throw the towel, I noticed something funny with the disc…it was spinning pretty well but to the opposite direction…you know why? The first technician did a good job to diagnose the problem and replaced the spindle motor but when installing this component he soldered back the Positive to negative pole and vice versa and hence the Disc was spinning on the opposite direction.
I returned the positive wire to positive pole on the board and ground to ground and the no disc symptoms where solved…the owner really congratulated me for the job well done…

Hello Jestine, thank you,
but are you sure you are not talking about me. Because I made two of those mistakes already. I'm guilty. Anyway, I just got this TV given to me and when I opened, all wires inside disconnected, and guess what I found a capacitor missing. So one has to be very careful when working on an equipment that was repaired by someone else.
On the other hand thank you again for all the effort to send us these articles. I have to thank you very much. By the way, already bought the CRT Book, so I put the LCD Monitor Manual on hold again, and when I finish the CRT Book then I will continue once more.
God Bless.

Oh, I have bought it already. The LCD Monitor Repair Manual, it just happens that most cases in my country is still CRT. But it is changing everyday and I have a LCD monitor on my bench.
Anyway, anyone out there that is just learning my experience with these books, is that you really have to try it out, and not just read it. Because when I bought the Testing Components ebook, I just read it, however, now that I am doing next course, it is so much easier, because I don't have to be referring back to the book everytime now. So my repair is faster. Even the bonus reports are great!!!!!

Hi Everyone, sometimes even new Items can be bad out of the box. I had a brand new Sharp tv years ago with poor sound like an If problem. Sharp had a service bulletin out that said check a certain cap in the sound detector to make sure one end was grounded. After looking around, I found that the factory never installed it. Putting it in fixed it. So do not all ways asume something new is always perfect. Especially if it never worked at all.

HI Arnold,
Did you get any ac voltage at the connector of the backlight? If no then replace the inverter ic or compare the resistance of the high voltage transformer.
