Sentimental Value LCD Monitor

By on July 25, 2012

Today, a friend of mine sent to me a Samsung LCD Monitor for repair. While we were talking about the problem of the Monitor (Display shutdown after few seconds), my friend suddenly brought up a new topic by saying he could get a new LED LCD Monitor but he just don't want to buy a new one. I asked him why and he told me that the LCD Monitor have sentimental value. He told me that actually the LCD Monitor was belong to his son and his son already passed away last year at the age of 11! In fact last year I did went to his son funeral and the cause of death was blood vessel suddenly  puntured deep inside the brain. There were beautiful stickers placed on the front casing of the LCD Monitor and this LCD Monitor reminded him of his son when my friend was using it. I told him that I will do my best to repair the LCD Monitor.

Many years ago my former supervisor sent his old 14" TV for repair and the repair bill was quite high. I asked him why not just buy a new one and his answer was the TV had sentimental value. If you have similar story to share about sentimental value equipment please do leave a comment-thanks.
