No Display In LCD Monitor
I am getting power to the system, The power LED will light blue and after a couple of minutes will turn orange. The problem that the computer came in with was “Display shutting down after a few seconds” I had change the Inverter IC and the computer came back to life and I let the computer running for half an Hour before reassembling it to the case, when I reassemble it and tried it the computer had no display. I then disassemble the computer and check for any loose connection but everything was OK.
I removed the circuit boards from the casing and assembled it just as I had it when it was working and same problem “No Display” This is when I decided to use the Oscilloscope to identify the problem area. So far every point I check seems to work OK except for the Scalar IC and Inverter IC because I do not have the datasheet to see which pins are the output. Let me know what you think.
Answer:
Could it be during assembly you had touch on something that had caused no display? The first rule in LCD monitor repair is that the power supply must produce the right output voltages. Then these voltages, one will go to the inverter and the other to the mainboard voltage regulator IC. Once the MCU received the supply voltage from voltage regulator IC, it will automatically output an “On” signal to trigger the Inverter IC thus causing the backlight to light. If there is improper supply voltage to the MCU or the MCU programs has corrupted then it will not work and cause the power LED to turn orange color.
