A Bike Control Board That Had A Part Ripped Off Board Restored
A friend of mine who is also a repair technician brought me this board for repair. He explained that a customer brought him this board that had a part ripped off and he wants me to re solder it back on board. He already made an agreement with his customer that if this part was replaced and the board did not work, it is not our responsibility and he has to pay for the time spent putting this part back.
The board was already taken out of its housing and I had to take these screws off
to get to the lower board that needed my attention.
Once these screws were off I was able to get to the screen and the lower board as well.
I can tell someone was already into this board for I could see some flux to the left side of the photo next to the capacitor.
This is the location of a ripped component and I forgot to mention that the customer
provided the replacement which was not the original part to be installed back on board.
With the help of the microscope, flux and a good soldering tool, I was able to re solder the ripped part back and add a soldering mask to cover any exposed traces on that board.
Once the soldering mask was added on board, I used an ultra violet light to dry it up, putting the board back in place and ask my friend to come and pick it up.
To be honest I have no idea if it worked or not because my friend did not inform me about it.
Mission Accomplished.

Rather odd that you soldered in another replacement part provided by the customer and added a soldering mask over it without even knowing if the bike control board worked?
And also that you mentioned placing back the ripped off part? That is very confusing to say the least!

Alber: if you read in the beginning of the article, we have made a deal with the customer to install the missing part but we are not responsible if the device worked or not since was bike was out of reach at that time. The part was restored on board but I did hear about it ever since. Have a blessed day

Waleed, such jobs are very difficult without good soldering iron & Microscope.
& also it is good practice to charge a customer for the time & material spent.
