A Flash Light That Does Not Light Up Repaired
A farmer brought this flash light for repair. It is a good big flash light that can be charged using a USB input; it shows a sign of charging but it does not light up which I think have to do with the battery but let us find out the fault for sure.
I already took the flash light apart for check up and headed directly to the LED lights here and found them to be ok.
The next option was to check for the power switch but it was also in good shape. One thing left to check was the batteries.
I already took the top off and tried to get to the main power source,
the batteries down below but I could not get to them from this side.
Six screws were hidden under a plastic rim and once these were taken out, I was able to reach the batteries from the other side of the flash light.
The batteries were completely dead and needed replacement and I think I have the same exact one sitting in my shop to be used.
I took the old batteries out and I had to take the plastic ugly thing out that was holding the batteries down and I once soldered the new batteries in, well, take a look
It is funny how that finding the fault and replacing the batteries are completely different things to do because it was a hassle taking this flash light apart but once I got it open and batteries exposed, the repair was done.
Mission Accomplished.

From the phrase "I have the same exact one sitting in my shop to be used", I guess your shop is still expanding in size daily? (lol) In this respect it must be a blessing to have a brother living right nextdoor to share some space, if I'm not mistaken?

Albert: not really but everything I that I buy are organized in drawers and donners boards are stored in plastic containers. it is a matter of organizing what I have. yes I am exanding but not in phyiscal sense. my brother's shop is next door isolated by a thick wall and he has the biggger space. have a blessed day

I think I see one of the issues. These rechargeable batteries seem not to have protection circuitry. The protection works two-fold. It prevents the battery from overcharging but also prevents it from deep discharge by disconnecting he load when the battery level goes below a certain level. If it had that there would always be some charge in the battery which prevents it from going completely dead and not ready to be recharged. Its likely the flashlight will make a return visit to your shop Waleed. 😛

Tayo: yes I see and Understand your point of view but so far I have got it back for service in the shop. Infact the same customer brought me more stuff to fix because he was pleased with the service I am providing. have a blessed day
