A Flash Light With A Broken Charging Port Repaired. Model: XLM-P70
A customer brought this flash light for repair and told me that it is not powering on any more. He tried to open it with a screw driver but instead he damaged the charging port on the device.
There are a lot of scratches on the body of the flash light.
It seems like he used a screw driver to pull up the board inside
and end up damaging the port.
I unscrewed the top piece off and I was able to see the LED light and the positive and negative spots on board.
Once these two wires were soldered off board I was able to take the main heat sink off and test the main board inside.
I could see broken solder spots where the two boards join together and that explains why the flash light was not powering on.
The flash light was powering on now but one problem remained which is the damaged charging port. To get to the charging port I need to take that screw holding the board in place. I unscrewed that off and I was able to get to the board.
I de soldered the damaged charging port off using flux and a heating station; in no time I was able to replace that port.
That is the finishing product that looked nice and clean.
The hole on the top of the charging port is for the charging light.
Mission Accomplished.

A lot of work was necessary to replace another broken off usb charging port. Good job!
These led/flash lights are great but probably all have the same issue, that they start blinking fast and very annoying when the on button is pushed instead of showing a steady not flickering lit led.

Albert: thanks man. yes I agree but this blinking of a flash is made for emergency situations. in the user manual usually mentions this depending on the clicking of the power button can give you different patterns of lights for your use. thanks for you comments and have a blessed day
