A Hand Blender That Works Fine But Has A Hissing Sound Repaired And Maintained

This hand blender was brought by my beloved niece on a Thursday morning and asked me about a hissing sound coming out of it. Sure enough I powered on the device in the shop and it was working just fine and I indeed heard that hissing sound coming out of it.
I popped open the bottom plastic piece and I was able to see the hidden screws in this device and the rest was easy.
That is an adjustable button for the speed of the motor that my niece did not know about and to tell you the truth neither did I tell I got it fully opened.
That is the device fully taken apart and as seen there is nothing wrong with it till I started to check the main board.
A very simple design and if you look to the far right of the board you would see the adjustable resistor for the motor speed.
My niece said that the motor was running slow from day one when she bought this device not knowing that rotating this knob will speed up the motor or slowing it down according to the need: we both laughed about it for while (LOL).
That was the main cause for the hissing sound coming out of this device. It was simply a bad soldering job that turned into a pin that is loose discharging power every time the device was powered on.
Once that fixed (sorry I forgot to take a photo of it) the machine was running just fine and my niece was able to adjust and control the speed of the motor. Of course I re soldered every pin on that board although some of them did not need it but did it anyway and to that I could say:
Mission Accomplished.

I hope you lubricated the connectors and other contacts and also applied grease on the bearings. Many thanks for sharing, dear friend!

Parasuraman: yes of course I did that to insure everything running within specks. You are most welcome dear fiend.

I believe that in the parts on the photo the rotation knob didn't show but guess it was attached to the potentiometer on the pcb in the bottom of the device.

I see it probably was the plastic small white toothed wheel that controlled the motor speed.

Great fix
I have a Wi-Fi unit where most of the LEDs didn't work, resoldered them and they worked for a few days... haven't quite figured out what is going on.

Anwar: check if you a bad LED light causing all the led’s to go off assuming the wi fi device is working fine. Have a blessed day
