About My Former Student
I and William were invited by my former student to attend his wedding dinner today. Let me tell you something about him. When he first took my course (Basic Electronics) about 4 years ago he knew very little about electronic repair and he worked in a computer shop. He told me that he had attended a short period of basic electronic repair course from Taiwan when his company sent him there for training. Although he had taken the course he was still struggling about electronic repair. One day he heard from a colleague that my company is offering electronic repair courses. He then took up 3 of the repair courses and then look for a new job.
He went to the interview and the owner of the company was impressed by his knowledge in electronics. I still could recall when he shared his interview experience with me. The owner gave him a power supply board and ask him to test the Mosfet and find out the equivalent part number and gave him a five color band resistors to test him out. Surprisingly he could answered it all and not only that he could repaired the power supply and brought the power supply back to life on the spot! He was immediately hired! How many of you went through such interview before?
He work there as a junior technician and he could solve lots of problem that the senior tech could not repair it. Fast forward to this day, he nows hold the highest post in technical department and his boss love him very much. Although he does not have any Diploma or Degree, whenever his company wants to hire new technical staff, his boss will ask him to interview University graduates! For your information, his company is the only company in my country that distribute and repair Nintendo Gaming Machine.
His success never comes easy as he stayed in his company till very late and examine all of the Gaming board. Whenever he had problem with those electronnic boards he always comes and see me. He don’t easily give up and he works real hard. He requested schematic diagrams from the headquater in Japan and analyze all of them till he become pro in this industry. I’m glad to see him getting married today and wish him all the best. Here are the photos taken when we were at the Selayang Golden Palace Restaurant:
