Buildskil Cordless Drill Machine Adapter Repaired
Received Power adapter for Physical Damage. Found mains in put pin Broken.
On opening the adapter, I found pins not soldered inside
but on PCB it has two retention clips which hold this pins firmly inside.
Removed PCB from the adapter for soldering wires directly from pins to PCB.
Found PCB of the adapter is of good Build Quality but adapter cover is of cheap quality, plastic is very thin & will get break easily & while Soldering the wires on the Pin this plastic can get melt easily.
So decide to not to modify. So first I joined back the broken pin using Superglue & Baking Soda.
But I found that the inner clips are straight whereas the covers do not match the pins that should be inserted into the clips inside. but they are not matching.
Stretched Clips to match distance between the two pins.
& snapped the cover of the adapter by aligning the pins with clips.
& now Adapter is back to the life.

I would have removed the pins from the circuit board and used multi strand (flexible) wire to connect to the external pins - making a definite connection.

Anthony Paterson,
I too had this thought But fixing the same pin would retain the original shape.
if plastic cover was in unrepeatable state i would have replace it with Cable.

Heard about the using Superglue & Baking Soda trick before but yet have to try this out some day myself too! I guess it works like mixing sand with cement (2:1) ratio?
Thanks for sharing this tip Yogesh!

Albert, it is a matter of self-practice, when you self-practice you will be able to decide the ratio as per requirement.first prepare the broken are by cleaning then apply thin layer of superglue then sparkle little baking soda over applied glue now repeat the process until you get the result.
