Bulgy Capacitors Found In Enhance Model Computer SMPS
This Computer SMPS was once again from the hospital where I work. The complaint was no output. Opened and cleaned the SMPS thoroughly using blower and various brushes. Also cleaned and lubricated the SMPS Fan. Found two 1000mfd/6.3V Caps bulgy in the secondary. Replaced it. Found a lot of dry solders.
Retouched all the solder joints and cleaned the board with IPA and metal brush.
Checked ESR of all remaining caps and found these to be within the limits. Used Ring Tester, which helped me determine the health of primary and secondary sections.
As all pre-tests were found to be ok, I shorted the green and black wire in the connector and applied power. The FAN rotated smoothly. Checked all the voltages and found these also to be in perfect condition!
Mission accomplished and satisfaction got added to its collection!

Again Parasuraman to the rescue! In these times where still Tesla's trusted AC generator generated voltages are massively converted to Edison's DC voltages for all our DC operated devices.
