Make and model: Portable Radio Model No.RP-S500 of Suns Corporation, Japan made in China.

Complaint reported: Set dead

Trouble shooting and rectification done: Opened and cleaned the set thoroughly. On visual inspection, found the main filter capacitor was burst. A lot of dry solders were found. Dismantled the set completely. Replaced all the electrolytic capacitors on the board as a routine maintenance service. Did dry solder patch up. Set worked perfectly well, adding satisfaction to its collection.
