Completed The Advanced CRT Monitor Repairing Course
This course was attended by three participants. One of them was a lecturer in electronics and wish to know more about CRT Monitor repairing. He will be taking the LCD Monitor repairing in 2 weeks time. The other two was involved in repairing CRT Monitors in their company. They knew that the trend now is in LCD Monitor repair but somehow they wanted to attend to learn more about the advance repair tips so that they can use it on other electronic equipment. Three of them have shown their commitment in this course and I’m very proud of them. For your information, a CRT Monitor consist more circuits than the LCD Monitor thus learning CRT Monitor will help them to understand other electronic circuits easier. Here are the photos taken during the 3 days Monitor repair course:

Hi Altaf,
It could be the tube having problem. I suggest that you compare the voltages/signals of the red/green and the blue circuit. Any differences in reading is the clue for you to troubleshoot on the circuit.

Red color

Standby or red color LED means either:
1) CPU IC got 5 volt but cannot send out the "On" signal due to the ic itself have problem or the eeprom ic have corrupted.
2) CPU IC could send out "On" signal but it cannot reach the main power supply section due to bad components in the optoisolator ic and surrounding components problem
3) On signal can reach the main power supply but main power supply itself have bad components like shorted secondary diodes, bad power ic and etc.
