Computer LCD Monitor Display Went Off Frequently
Display of Monitor on my work bench is goes off frequently. I noticed when monitor display goes off Power Indicator Led on monitor remain stable Blue. (Normally when there is a no signal from the computer power LED turns into Orange). It indicates something wrong with Internal Power supply. Monitor is Viewsonic Make & Model no. is VA1928wm.
Removed back cover & removed CFL Connectors First to remove Metal Chases.
After cleaning dust on visual inspection I found two Bulged Capacitors …
Checked Logic PCB & Other Circuit on power Board everything seems ok.
No any sign of physical damage, Burnout or dry solder.
Logic PCB
Backlit inverter control section on back side of the Power Board.
Now proceed for the Capacitor replacement ….
took out replacement capacitors from my salvaged material…
Replaced bad Capacitors from the circuit & Installed the same rating Capacitors.
After replacement of the capacitors I Powered the unit & kept it ON for half an hour, no further frequently off…….
Assembled the Monitor & It is Back to work……… (There is two vertical lines visible on left side of the screen, that is fault of the Screen itself and cannot be repaired; hence I kept this monitor as a standby for my work bench).

I normally just replace the whole group to avoid having to do it again.

Probably not worth the effort since the monitor has a known defect on the display.

Anwar Sheikh,
Thanks! for your feedback....I never replace unnecessary things form the PCB because of my past bad experience. in past one of my CRT TV repair work I replaced 8 Capacitors just by think of good service like you but repair was worsen & fault symptom changed to another symptom because 2 new capacitors out of eight found bad under the load. to find & eliminate the culprit I wasted more 3 to 4 days. Yes it is necessary if any of surrounding parts showing some suspected reading on the Multimeter on cold testing.

Good fix. Knowing where the trouble is (the power board) is half the battle.

At times one or two vertical lines on screen can be removed by placing a flat small rubber under the bezel where lines are, this's if the problem is not signal voltages missing but tab. Thanks for sharing.

Like you I also keep some partly okay working monitor or other device at hand just to have a spare one. To make sure that I always will be able to use these in case my other good devices get bad too. And I always can scrap them for parts or give them away later on when I need the space that they occupy.

You are right Albert,
Some time it is very difficult to arrange the parts that is also not economical.
