Degaussing Problem In CRT TV

By on June 25, 2013

I have a degaussing problem in CRT TV. Color patches in the display. May i know what is the solution?

Answer:

Degaussing problem can be due to bad posistor, dry joints in the posistor pins and also bad crt tube. Sometimes the degaussing coil could develop short circuit and can be tested using the Blue Ring Tester. However this happened very rare. If you have an external degausser or some call it as demagnetizer and it can’t remove the color patches problem then the problem is 100% bad CRT Tube. The only solution is to replace the CRT Tube.

A degausser or demagnetizer can be purchased from local electronics shop.
