Iphone 11 Pro Broken Screen Replacement

My niece brought me her iphone 11 pro for screen replacement. She had this phone for less than a year but the warranty does not cover broken screen.

As you can see, there was no display on the screen for it was completely dead and needed a screen replacement.

It was not an easy job opening this phone. I had to use heat to soften the adhesive holding the screen.  Once it was opened I headed to the battery connectors and disconnected them right away then proceeded to disconnecting the other flex cables.

(When connecting the screen go in reverse, screen flexes first then battery).

Finally the screen was off and it is time to get the new screen ready for installation.

The only flex cable that needed transfer to the new screen is the ID, camera and the proximity sensor flex cable.

Three screws were off then the flex cable was transferred to the new screen. It is now ready to be installed.

As you can see it is up and running. The only problem with this installing, the phone is not water proof any more since the water seal inside the phone was taken out and I did not have a replacement for it. I informed my niece of the new situation and she promised to be careful.

Mission Accomplished.

The difficulty besides opening these phones is to get these new replacement screens -with those easily breakable glass touchscreen toplayers- in perfect condition delivered when ordered by mail. Because I already received new ordered touchscreens at least 2 times completely squashed in my mailbox. The last time it happened a few days ago it was even repacked by the delivery office in a transparant bag AFTER the original shipping bag already was completely torn open in transport! Aliexpress this time luckily accepted my dispute but the first time this happened the Chinese seller didn't accept that the badly damaged box had not survived the transport and disputed my claim, and my payment for the 7 inch touchscreen was never compensated!

Albert: they are very sensitive screen and should be treated as such. sending the screens in the mail never a good idea. I always get my screen from a local dealer or sometime someone brings it with him/her from the states when they travel. have a good day

I and phone are connected only when I use it! I never venture to take up such jobs because of intricacy involved! A job well done, are a few words, though it does not describe my appreciation fully!
