Iphone Charger Cable That Did Not Charge Repaired
My wife asked me to take a look at her Iphone charger cable. It was not charging the way it should because if the cable was moved or shaken the charging would stop. I know the problem is the cable because we use a charging station that charges up to nine devices at the same time and it was brand new.
This is an original charging cable; the first thing I did was to peel off the plastic on the outside to get to the cables inside. I used that with sharp knife.
I know the photo is a little bit out of focus but the positive is red, the black is ground, the white is negative data and the green is the positive data lines.
To make sure all is well, I de soldered the wires off, cleaned and added fresh solder and flux to the plug then move to the actual cable.
I prepped the cable by adding fresh flux and solder to it; then I soldered it back to the iphone changing plug.
Every cable went back the way it was before and tested the charging situation.
Not the best soldering joints but they were solid and making very good connections.
I tested the cable using my iphone and it was charging well. I let it charge for a while. I shacked the moved the cable around while charging but it did not disconnect and the charging continued as it supposed to do.
I added a shrinking tube to the end of that cable and with a heat gun I melted it and when it was solid I added another layer of shrinking tube as well. I let it cool down and when it did, the cable was back not as new but it was charging fine.

Albert: yes she was happy with that. Her brother came from the states and brought her more charging cables; he sells phones there, if I knew he was coming I would have bothered with the repair.. lol. Have a blessed day

I thought that the first step after peeling off the plastic to expose the bare wires would be to test for continuity or shorting. But anway good job and congrats
