LG Home Theater Repaired

This home theater was brought to me with complaints of showing “No Disk”. When I opened its cover case, there was little dust which I did clean. Power it and observe the disc was rolling slowly. So I suspected the motor driver could be faulty.

Pull it out and gave it ohms test which it failed (opened). Replaced it with a working one, clean the laser lens and powered the devise.

It played out beautifully. See below pictures of the finished repaired work.

   Nice job! Sadly most home theater sets I know are much harder to fix like the CyberHome sets. When these sets work they play all kind of discs with excellent quality. But as soon as they quit working they can't be fixed. Mostly because the board that controlls all video and other signals in the drive itself is gone. And getting such a special new replacement board or a new CyberHome replacement drive is just not possible.
