LG Vacuum Cleaner With Power Issue Repaired
As I was taking my son to his guitar lesson next door, the guitar instructor who is also a relative of mine asked me to repair his vacuum cleaner that has power problems.
As the customer explained the power issue, it came to my understanding that the machine once the power button is pushed on,
it keep shutting on and off and eventually it shuts off and stay off.
I have seen problems like that before so I headed directly to the power switch board for inspection and cleaning.
I took two screws off and I was able to see the actual board that has the power button and the resistance that controls the speed of the vacuum cleaner.
As expected, I found a lot of dirt on that slide switch so I gave it a good clean with cleaning alcohol and tested it but it did not help much with the power on and off issue.
As I traced the wires through the hose of the vacuum cleaner it leads me to these connections and as you can see in the photo, they were dirty as well.
I gave it a very good clean and of course the pins that sit on these dirty lines were cleaned as well. They were dirty as well as seen in the photo.
I put the machine back together and tested it. I actually vacuumed some areas in my shop that looked dirty and needed cleaning. It was working like a charm without any shutting down.
Mission Accomplished.

Good job! These old carbon potentiometer sliders or the rotator potentiometers in future probably become some sort of digital voltage adjusters to prevent them from wearing out so easily.

Albert: thanks man. the problem is not just wearing out but also dirt that can do damage as well even if it was a digital voltage adjuster..dirt can get anywhere but again that is why we are here because someone broke something or a device is not working. LOL. have a blessed day
