Milky Display Necessitated Panel Replacement In Samsung LED TV-UA43N5005AK
This TV was brought by a known person from childhood. This was the first time he ever brought anything to me for repair. The complaint was milky display. I went to his home, took a picture and video and sent it to my techiefriend who handled panel level service, including bonding and laser treatment. As the TV required internal investigation, I brought the TV to my home and opened it and cleaned it thoroughly:
The five vital voltages to the panel such as VGL, VGH, V.com, AVDD & VCC were checked and found to be ok. Then removed left side of the LVDS cable from the T-con board, that went to the scalar board. Did the same with the right side too after putting back left side. Following was the result:
As we can see, the panel had indeed developed shorts on both sides, left side of which is very severe. There was no way of doing any shortcut methods like masking, cutting or shaving the CKV lines. Panel replacement was the only solution and I sought the customer’s approval after obtaining the estimate from my techiefriend. Customer took a couple of days for a decision and sent me the advance as per my request. I do not undertake major works in any set without taking an advance, as there could be many slips between the cup and the lip. I took the TV to my techiefriend after obtaining an appointment. The back cover was fixed only with a few screws to enable safe transportation.
Following are the pictures that I took when my friend was doing the panel replacement. He normally does not allow anyone inside the shop. He held a soft corner for me and accommodated my requests willingly and took care of my comforts too very well:
He is an expert in panel related issues and generally takes only work from technicians. His shop is full of TVs and he hardly finds time to take care of his personal needs. Both he and his son are very thorough and dedicated and are running the shop with very good reputation and credibility.

After the panel was replaced, which had its own T-con board, he tested it and ran it for a few minutes feeding video.

The speakers were bad and had to be replaced. My friend did not have suitable speakers. So, I brought it home and went to the market and bought replacement speakers and fixed them. Following are the pictures of the damaged speakers, which would speak for itself:
I tested the TV for several hours before giving delivery to the customer. Mission accomplished with satisfaction that got collected to the bag as usual!

The high successrate of all your tv repairs is as always more than impressive!
I only can report another disaster that happened yesterday with my brother's 50 inch Samsung tv that had 35 diffuser caps that all one by one came loose in the about less than 8 years he had this tv. Showing multi unwanted bright sunny spots in the screen backlight that only showed how bad this tv was manufactured by a big company like Samsung! At first I wanted to fix this tv when my holiday starts in about a week or 8 but my brother didn't want to wait this long so we started yesterday after my workweek.
Opening the Samsung tv was easy by unclipping all its outside clips and the backscrews. And also gluing on all 35 diffuser caps with special transparant uv hardening glue was no problem. But the hard part was getting the large 50 inch lcd glass plate back on the frame with the backlight strips was a disaster. Everything went well until the glass screen refused to be placed exact in the middle of the outside shell where it was pressed in position and held in place with its outside rectangle shaped frame list. And because that outer frame list damaged the glas on the right side when it was pressed on with its clips the screen was damaged and unfixable. I didn't use the special bought expensive vacuum sucking lifting frame to transport and handle the lcd glass plate because the lcd was completely laying flat on a large table which should have been an easy re-assembly. But it wasn't. Also because after gluing all 35 diffuser caps still one came loose showing one bright spot again. Luckily my brother already had bought a Lucky Goldstar (LG) 48 inch Oled tv. That doesn't have the Samsung problem because it is Oled and probably also much better designed and manufactured!

Very sad to hear this! In all probability you did not handle the panel keeping all precautions which are shared here in the forum and followed the steps! Handling such a large-size panel itself is a risky job! It requires some amount of experience in the field. Anyhow, you can perhaps find a replacement and save it from dump? Many thanks for sharing!

My brother already thought that this Samsung tv was only trouble from the start he had it. So he just wanted to give it a try if it still was worth saving, and else just discard of it straight to the waste disposal depot. So I didn't even try to save the still good boards and parts that could have generated some money on eBay or Marktplaats. And finding a matching new 50 inch screen panel is not cheap if even possible. After which also the leds on the problematic backlight strips could start to fail too which only would extent the problem.

Dear Albert, it always is good to try your hand on do or die sets. Please salvage whatever you can from the TV and send the rest for recycling, if available. The backlight strips should be replaced entirely to give a long life. Replacing the domes won't solve the problem. You can perhaps restore the backlight with its reflector and diffuser sheets, discard the panel and place a large family photo on it with the backlight on. This is what some of our techie friends do here. That will serve as a good photo frame with backlight! (Most of the Samsung TV backlight will get on without connecting the mother board) All the very best.

Of all the articles I've read here, non has ever distructed my attention as this three-in-one story. As I read the first samsung-panel story, the birthday photo caught my attention for quite some while. Honestly if I would have been invited I would have excused myself for being at the wrong place. There is no remote resemblence of the 'techies' special guest celebrating his birthday, and the Parasuraman impression (usual photo) in my mind. The appearances are worlds apart, save for the spectacles. How your host arranged for the cake and what I think is a nice radio present, beside the TV repair, would make any one envious. Congratulation for the birthday party, dear Parasuraman. Well done my fellow jeans wearer for being so caring for the mindful man we really like. Evidently you two share much more in your personal lives that goes beyond TV repair. Also what captured my interest is the TV whose owner couldnt wait any little longer for it to be repaired much more carefully, yet he had another new TV.

There seems to be some mistake. There was no birthday party there. It is a video stream from a channel as an advertisement for Caravan. I took video of the TV working and took an extract. Many thanks for your wonderful involved comments, that make you unique, dear brother!

currently i am working on one Toshiba 32" Led TV SMPS. TV Model is 32L2450VT & SMPS marked with V71a00030500, unfortunately did not find any schematic for the smps.PWM Used is TEA1733 problem primary MOSFET not switching & PWM is having 7v on VCC pin through Startup circuit i think because Mosfet is not switching there is no auxiliary supply. (as per datasheet IC threshold VCC voltage is 20v).

Try using a five wire module. First try the three wire (ignoring the green) that we use in CRT, keeping the pot at minimum. Then if it switches, try the other and close the case. Many thanks for your comments, dear Yogesh Bai!

My assumption is, the 20 volts the PWM should get as Vcc is from the power stepdown transformer. So either the transformer is playing games here or some component before the transformer is robbing some of the transformers nearly 300 volts input. Now the reduced transformers input voltage makes the transformer unable to creat 20 Vcc for PWM. Only the inadequate 7 volts is what the transformer can raise for the PWM, rendering it ineffective and so stalling other operations

Do we ever care to verify if the specifications given by manufacturers about their consumer products is true. The 43 inch tv, as claimed needs only 75 watts of power to run. Some other tv brands its size may call for over 100 watts to operate

Yes, very true! All tall claims on specifications need not be true and consumers are seldom bothered about it too!
