Monitor Repair Forum
Monitor repair forum play a very important part in helping me to gain knowledge in monitor and electronic repair. I joined the anatek repair forum many years back and the website was handled by John Bachman and his wife Pamela. I would like to thank him for setting up the repair forum where i learned a lot from the super techs who was actively answering questions post by other fellow repair members. That was a small amount of fees impose in order to become the member.
Now, there are lots of free repair forum in the Internet and this caused many members moved out. Good Day,

I recently repaired 2 LCD Monitors.
One a Chimai 22in
It was blowing fuse and i ended up replacing the bridge rectifier
and a Fet.
The second was 17in HP
It wasn't turning on and that was bloated electrolytic caps
in the secondary of the power supply.

Hai Jestine,monitor acer ac511 tampilan gambar horisontal tidak penuh walaupun horizontal size sudah
100%.Sewaktu dihidupkan tampilan BIOS normal,tapi kemudian tampilan windows mengecil.Dimana problemnya?

Hi Susilo,
Sekiranya anda dah cuba set kat OSD dan masih ada masalah yang sama cuba check capacitor sekitar flyback dgn menggunakan digital capacitance meter. Capacitor itu adalah jenis non polar.

2.2/50v non polar dan 22/200v elco,tapi belum ada perubahan.Saya cek B+ hanya 60v,dimana lagi saya harus cek?

Hi Susilo,
Check capacitor yang mempunyai nilai voltage antara 250v hingga 2000 volt. Sebelum B+ FET anda dapat berapa volt?

Sila check non polar cap sekitar flyback. Kalau nilainya lari gambar akan kecut/kecil.

Hi Susilo,
Check gate signal of B+ fet ataupun terus tukar h/v oscillator IC. Kalau tiada signal ke gate of B+ fet gambar akan kecil.

lg tv flat screen the picture became dark and top and botom one inch fold itry to increase screen brightnes but many vertical line apears on the screen if i reduce the line disapear but pictur become dark. Help me solve this problem

Check the vertical section and make sure no dry joints and the supply voltage is good and stable.

Hello Jestine,
I have an LG 500G. I have checked SMPS as far as possible but could not find any thing suspecious. The problem is that when I turn on the monitor, the Green LED keeps blinking continuously. Nothing appears on screen. When the data cable is connected to the VGA port and the computer is not turned on, I get a stable Orange light. However, as soon as the computer is turned on the green light keeps blinking continuously. I have replaced KA3842B as well as 7N60. But the problem remains the same. I am at a loss to understand where to put my head next.

HI Hasan,
I suggest that you get a tv repair book which have all the complete explanation of the circuit. I recommend "Troubleshooting and Repairing Solid State Tvs by Homer L Davidson". As for the G2 yes you can test the voltage with a digital voltmeter.

I suggest that you get this tv repair book from amazon.com "Troubleshooting and Repairing Solid State TVs by Homer L Davidson". It has the simple explanation of the cause of the problems and solutions. I fully recommend this book.

hallo sir today iwent to a castomer to install satellite dish after istalling the dish he ask me to repair his 14 inch sanyo tv the screen was black the led light ok when i switch it on i hear high volt sound .iswitch it of check for dry joint ifound and solder the area it work very well.THANK YOU JUSTINE I READ ALLOT IN YOUR WEBSITE

I like your forums very much.
I have a Sony Flat screen TV.When I put on the power,it just comes on with sparks on the screen like its coming on the goes off.I have checked all the components and the only component which I found burnt was only the STR.The problem is still there,how do I go about it?

Sorry, i have no info on that part. But you can use four pieces of 1N5408 diode to fabricate it into a bridge rectifier as a replacement.

hi jestine,i have samsung syncmaster monitor.after long time,i fix it's power problem and give power to the monitor.it shows no signal message about 5 min.in between that time,i herd some"tik tik" sound inside the monitor.after that,suddenly any picture is not shown in screen.i also replace the horizontal out transistor before that problem.relay is turn on and off normally,light is blink when connected to computer normally.i didn't see any other problem in monitor.is that flyback not work?or any other?please help me.thank you.

Sorry no info on that. Perhaps you can try to use C5047 or C5411 as replacement. If it is hot after running for a minute or two then both numbers are not suitable.

I want to learn how to fix a projection tv it is a Sony KP-46WT510. when u turn it on all it says is auto zap. I have not connected an antenna or cable box yet to begin troubleshooting. Can I use a splitter an connect to one box. Would it then always be on the same channel as the other set?
