No Power In Calculator Repaired
Friend of mine in our housing society gave me this calculator to fix.
I checked by pressing ON/AC Button but no digits visible on the screen.
Hence I opened the calculator by removing two screws from the back side for visual inspection. I found here…..metal battery holder cover is hanging on the PCB.
So I took it on my workbench for repair……..
So first of all I have to make patch on this damaged trace so that it can hold the metal cover with pressure while battery is inserted.
Arranged one BMS circuit of laptop’s damaged battery from my junk box which have wide copper strip soldered on battery cell.
I cut this copper end and patched on damaged trace on the PCB.
Soldered copper strip patch over the damaged area and soldered battery holder metal cap on it.
Inserted the Battery under the cap……. & checked calculator is back to the life.

A very calculated patch work on a calculator! Well done! It is not what we repair that matters, the thrill we get when we accomplish!

Thanks! If we have skill to revive the equipment just repair it rather throw it away & give it to some body who need it.
