PS4 Controller That Does Not Charge Repaired

A young man who works at my brother’s works shop brought this PS4 controller for repair. It was not charging at all. I checked the cable and it was found to be faulty but the charger was fine. The controller was already opened and the screws were missing.
Right away I took the cover off and disconnected the battery and the top side of the controller.
The controller is in a bad shape and needed some tender loving care and that was the plan.
The tiny charging board sits in this top casing of the PS4 controller and it was broken from the inside and needed a replacement.
I added a low melt solder to the faulty charging port and with hot air I was able to take it out in no time.
It is a very sensitive area because of the plastic socket nearby and that is why low melt solder does this amazing job.
I have many of these charging ports available at the shop
and putting the new one back on board is also an easy thing to do if you know what you are doing.
The charging port is soldered on, cleaned flux off and the board was ready to go into the controller.
I put everything back together and it was time to charge and test the controller.
Mission Accomplished.

I never used low temp solder before because it is still rather expensive. But this was again another repair example that showed its useful purpose!

Hi Waleed, I am just curious: which low melt solder do you use (brand) and if it easily available in your Country.
