This 32” BG LCD TV came in for repair with the complaint of Red LED standby problem. It can’t be turned On with the remote control or from the main Menu push button.

Once the back cover is removed, the first thing I check/scan is the mainboard.

I saw cockroach eggs juice around the main IC Chip.

I had to clean and wash it using PCB chemical.

After that I reflowed the main IC chip area using my SMD Rework station gun set to 342 Degree Celcius.

Once done and when the power was turned On, the TV came back to life.

People forget that mother nature can cause electrical problems. Cockroaches like to find a warm bed for the night and choose to set up home.

Well done on fixing this cockroach short!

    Well done.

In my country the cockroaches are very common inside the appliances, but worse are the mice, they leave you the pcb useless for a life.

On the other hand, is almost imposible in my country to get PCB chemical, therefore we use to scrub the PCB with liquid detergent and rinse it with abundant running water. Later it's dried with a sunbath.
