The Inside Of A USB Portable Rechargeable Soldering Iron
This is a handy tool that I bought a few months back. I used this often when working on SMD components and doing some minute soldering works. The backup time, unfortunately, is not good enough when used in high temp mode. But when we do work on T-con or Scalar Boards of LED TVs, this is very handy and we can finish the work quickly. Recently it developed problems such as not getting charged fully, buttons not responding and tip not getting heated up.
So, I got a chance to look into it and that is why I thought of sharing it with you all, since this tool might be of interest. Since I noticed that the two sides of the iron were covered with tight caps on both sides, I pried it open, upon which I could locate two screws at each side holding the sides together. Let us have a look:
As you might probably have noticed from the second picture, there were dry solders all around.
I retouched all the points including the tip holding sockets and USB port holder. Then it looked well and healthy:
Then when I inserted the battery and tested with the tip loaded, it was working very well. Even the charging was taking place properly. The heating selection one, two and three also worked very well.
Mission accomplished with a different double satisfaction getting added to the collection.
