So for no power symptom we have to first check the power cord. While testing the continuity with help of Multimeter I found both the wires shows open circuit. But when checked ac signal with contact less line tester it shows continuity of both the wires……how it is possible????

I removed the plug from mains and I found ….Melted Plastic on corner of the pins.

pin broken in cable

Grabbing pin with the hand I just pull the pin & pin is in my hand….

broken ac cable repair

That is why contact less line tester showing continuity because broken wire get in touch to the pin intermittently when wire having load while connected to mains socket.

Now time to replace the two pin plug. Arranged one from my junk box and replaced the same.

Good job on fixing this Vaporizer and preventing any risk of fire because of the unreliable wiring. I guess that these Vaporizer circuits are nothing more then watercookers with adjusted boiling regulators. That instead of switching off at the reached boiling temperature probably do not reach such high temperatures and keep on heating just to produce steam? Never seen one, or used one, and neither had the opportunity to check the inside of one, nor its circuit. Although I have a steam cleaner, but that device also switches off after reaching the boiling temperature.

      Albert,

You are right this vaporizer does not have any sensor or cutoff Circuit.

It just having two metal plates as i have already shared the detail in my previous article.

anyway i am using same steamer since last 15 Years without any problem (may be because it exhaust vapor continuously) even i continuously keep it power ON for say 30 to 45 Minutes and yes you have to switch it off manually.

Never forget that a contactless device only gives just an indication, not a specific measure. Anyhow, a good job. Thanks for sharing.

    Waleed ,
I think for this problem bulb also give same behavior as multi-meter reading if the wire is broken form inside.
tip of using also good for visual inspection.
    Thanks!
