Is Training/Servicing Manuals Good?
If you have a doubt about whether Training/Servicing Manual for equipment is good or a waste of time reading it then i have to tell you that those manuals are like gold/treasure to me. There are lots of website offering free servicing/training manuals and also there are paid manuals. No matter where you get it please make sure you print it out read and study it. For your information there are lots of repair books out there and many of the books does not contains information offered by the training/servicing manuals. Due to this i want you to know that you are not wasting money/time when you got the manuals. Of course those manuals does not have the ABC steps to show you how an equipment work (you can read the basic of how equipment works from books you bought elsewhere) but it has all the important information of how each of the circuit work!
Wouldn’t it be good if you got hold of information that have all the explanation of a complete circuit for a particular equipment? It shows how a SMPS work, where all the voltages should appear, how and where the current should flow in the circuit and many more. If you wish to venture into TV repair then make sure you get those manuals and study it till you understood the circuit. It is the same if you would like to venture into Monitor repair and etc.

first i congrat on you for the day of country . i got to many info from that.but i have question about your languagge is it maly languagge like thay languagge is there any relation with thay langugge
what about hand writing is it english?
manul are good if you find a proper one for your set that you are working

Yes these manuals are so important and I have learned alot from reading them over the years.

Hi Beh,
My country official language is Malay (Bahasa Malaysia) and secondary language is English. Assuming that we have 8 subjects in school, 6 subjects would be in Bahasa Malaysia and the other 2 subjects would be in English. Understanding the manual for the equipment you are working on will give you an advantage in solving problem fast.

I love the service manuals especially the ones that come with schematics of the equipment.all the time, understanding how it works is usually the way to fix the equipment and the schematics help me understand how the equipment work and therefore less time spent on repair. I wish I could find a schematics for every equipment I face, that would be great. I get most of my service maunals on the net, some expensive, some cheap and some even free. my opinion, if you want to make money, you need to spend some money. just hoping that spending money is way less than earning money

I was stationed their in 1964 to 1965, best posting anybody could get, lovely people, always made us welcome, great place to explore, always wanted to go back, but time rolls on so quick.
love the site, so much infomation and a great introduction to electronic repairs,( even at my age) and leads onto so much more, all the best for the future.
