Mirror On The Electronic Repair Bench
By Jestine Yong on November 26, 2009
I’ve been to many of my friends repair place and i observed that some of them had a big square mirror located at the back portion of the repair bench. The purpose for it is to make the repair tech to be more convenient when adjusting the big set TV or Monitors. Can you imagine, how are they going to tune the flyback knobs (screen and focus) without the help from the mirror? If you can’t reach the knobs from in front then i suggest that you put in the mirror to help you out. Just by looking at the mirror, you can turn the knobs till you get the perfect picture.
By the way, I’m sending my wish to those who will be celebrating ThanksGiving Day- Have a blessed day!

I was renewing burnt out diodes in an old 12 VDC TV power supply,on a kitchen table, and when I had finished I discovered someone had been twisting the little potentier knobs on the back, vertical hold and frame hold, after a bit of twisting around to watch the screen while adjusting the pots, a 12 year old from the family came into the kitchen with a ladies mirror, and held it for me to see the screen, this made the job so simple I use that tip all the time now. That boy is now a Licensed Radio Amateur, I had given him his first lesson on how diodes work ! I was 17 at the time, doing "O" level Science at college !
