how to fix rice cooker

The complaint of this Richsonic rice cooker was low heat even though you have  pressed the cook button/switch. Usually it will gets hot and start to cook rice but somehow this rice cooker was not able to produce the kind of heat needed.

I felt the low heat by placing my hand just few inches above the heating element as seen from the photo below:

I opened the bottom cover of the rice cooker to expose the internal circuit/wiring.

Once the cover was opened I could immediately saw a burnt wire and I have checked all other parts and they were all good.

I believe the burnt wire is the only cause of the problem of low heat. Take a look at the photo below:

I fabricated my own new wire and fixed it back to the same location where I took the bad wire out.

I powered on the rice cooker and tested the heat again and all was back to normal. See the three photos below:

It seems to be a common fault in stoves cookers etc where the wire is crimped, I tend to believe the actual crimped connection point becomes a little high resistance and the resultant heating becomes exponential destroying the joint.

It was good that you also used a good 230VAC wire that is heat resistant from looking at the outside insulation.
