Damaged USB Port Replaced On An Expensive Musical Keyboard
A sound engineer brought me this musical keyboard for repair. He said that during a recording session the device fell down while connected to the USB port and in the process the part got damaged and he wants it replaced as soon as possible.
It is not the first time I get this keyboard in my shop so opening the device was not a hassle.
A lot of the screws in the back of the device have to be taken out then take
the board one by one to get the small tiny board inside that has the broken part.
Finally I was able to get the board that need my attention and once I took these cables off along with more screws the part was ready to be installed.
I did not have a new part available in the shop but I have many used ones; the customer did not care as long it works fine.
I cleaned the area, added the part along with flux and I soldered it back on board.
I cleaned the flux off and put everything back together the way it should be and here is the final result.
I called the guy who lives nearby and was able to test it out before leaving the shop and I could see he was happy with the outcome.
Mission Accomplished
