No Power In Car Radio AMP SAMCON CDSN555 Solved
This FM-Amplifier was brought by a recently added customer stating that it was bought several years back and used in his Three wheeler Autoriskshaw (A type of transport vehicle), connected to the 12V battery, and was lying in his attic and found dead on powering on. I removed the top cover and cleaned the inside which had collected dust and debris.
Then lubricated the connectors and switches. The power cord was cut from inside as the set was being used with battery supply. The customer however wanted to use it in his home directly from the mains. As the primary of the mains transformer showed reading, I connected a mains AC input there and checked and glad to see the power on LED lit. Let us have a look at the inside before proceeding further:
I found that the on/off switch was defective and had broken on one side. I played FM and gave input signal to the line in and found the set working perfectly well enough.
So, replaced the on/off switch and mains cord and allowed the set to run for several hours before closing the cover and informing the customer to come and collect. Mission accomplished easily and satisfactorily which got collected as usual.

The amplifier is now going to enjoy a pleasant life away from the bumpy threewheeler that vibrates like nobodys business. It has run away from the dusty, smokey and misty harsh environment that it previously operated in, where faults were bound to arise. Not forgeting the unsteady 12V input from the generator. A voltage output that I have always given a clean bill of health. The voltage output is as jumpying as the ride is skipping on any given rough road. Besides, perfectly working electronic gadgets get spoiled when not used for some time. Capacitors, diodes, switches or even ICs become defective. So, so soon as a gadget is repaired its better to be handed back to the owner. Again to avoid losses by something not hitting something else, but IT !
