The Hardest Part Number To Find Is SMD Parts
Yes this is true the hardest part number to find either for the datasheet or spare parts is the SMD component. Most electronics suppliers website only selling the bigger components (conventional components) and even if they sell the SMD parts it would be very less choice to choose. Not only that, finding the SMD components spec is also a problem as most of the part numbers can't be found from the internet. Worst, some SMD parts does not have any printed info on it. It seems that the SMD parts is not user friendly special thanks to the manufacturers that did not reveal much about the components data they have developed.
Sometimes the only way to solve this kind of problem is through expereince and from trial and error. I have solve quite a number of fault related to SMD components. I used the bigger components as replacement but one has to be truly understand the circuit. Some cases the equipment just would not work and I have no choice other than to send it back to customer. What about you? how do you solve the SMD parts problem?

HI MR YONG
refer to decoding books of smd s
with same s m d code on component but different manufacturer the component is diffrent
for exampel: .
if the smd code on the component is :
A2 = HSMS -2802 the manufacturer is HELWET PACARD
but same smd code A2 when PHILLIPS is manufacturer is 1N4148W
or MOTOROLA has same part smd A2 but this is after decoding MMBD2836 and so and so
.................
my problem is to verfiy the manufacturer on the small smd ?

Hi Beh,
You are right as some manufacturers could manufacture same part number but with different type of function. This really confuse us the repair tech.

From what I am seeing in tube repair videos the simplest way is to get your hands on available junk boards of same brands and direct swap the components between boards. If you can get schematics it will show you the power or volts in every rail there is and this will help narrow down theproblem. It seems the smd parts will force most repair guys to just focus and be familiar with only a few types of board at first and only over time gradually increase to more different boards. It seems the manufacturer really means to make their products unservisable. More sales for them but big problem for environment

HI JESTINE
in code book of smd another parametr is coming with each smd data and this is SOT (Small Out line Transistor ) and by measuring each smd by a digital caliper we can find out which smd we are facing onthe board for example:
A2 = HSMS- 2802 SOT 23 IS 2.9MMX 1.3MMX1.3MM HELWETPACARD CO.
A2 = MBT3906 DW- SOT 363 IS 2MMX1.25MMX095 MM MOTOROLA CO,
and by comparing the two data we we can assum which transistor is which

Hi Jestine
Yes its really hard to try to keep up with all the latest technology if you are a newby like me and still learning the basics. Just have to keep on reading and learning about electronics as much as i can.
Thanks Wimpie
