Testing Flyback Transformer With Digital Meter?
I don’t have a flyback transformer tester how can I test it with a digital meter. What is the difference in flyback transformer can I just replace with any of same size and same legs though written numbers are different. Is there any equivalent?
Answer:
You need to use the blue ring tester to test the primary winding of the flyback transformer because digital meter can’t check it. A shorted winding still checked to be good. Digital Multimeter could only check if there is shorted winding between the primary and the secondary winding. For replacement you need the exact part number or any number that the supplier can suggest. Even though all flyback transformer underneath have 10 pins not all have the same pin configuration. The primary winding can be pin 1 and 2, in some model it can be pin 3 and 4 and so on.
