An Active Speaker That Powers On But Without Sound Repaired. Meirenda K12-2
A guy who lives nearby brought his speaker to my shop and wanted to get his speaker fixed. He said the speaker powers on but there is no sound coming out.
Four screws off and I was able to see the inside of this speaker.
Lots of wires inside so taking a photo of them is not a bad idea to keep in mind what wire goes where.
I spotted where the speaker cables go to and right away I saw the fault.
I am sure you have spotted already the hole on that tiny amp IC with the part number of B5K18A.
I do not have this IC available in my shop but I found the equivalent part for it which was HT8693SP and that I have plenty of in my shop.

I applied low melt solder to the pins of the IC and carefully I applied some heat to it and it was off in no time.
I soldered the replacement part there and put everything back together (with the help of the photo).
The sound was restored in this active speaker and two things left to do, put the screws back and call the customer for pick up.
