CANON LBP 2900 Laser Printer not working fixed
I have received CANON LBP 2900 Laser Printer for repair. The complaint was when switching “ON” the printer power light was glowing but it does not pick up the paper for printing. Further discussion with the customer I came to know that he was an engineering student and he has opened the printer for cleaning purpose and after cleaning from inside this symptom occurred.
Most of the time I do not repair in front of the customer. This is because if the equipment is new, I had to learn and may struggle how to open it and this may not be good if the customer sees it. For your information not all equipment can be easily opened.
I turned On the printer and it does not initialize. I had checked the toner cartridge and top cover for proper fitting. These two sections have sensors and if it not fitted properly, the printer will not start for safety purpose. I have also checked the gear system, solenoid coil, the power and the controller PCB and all seems to be good.
When I continued to further check the printer, I found the paper out sensor clip came off. See the photos below:
Once it was fitted back to its original location and powered On, it can initialize and the printer came back to life.

Yes I also agree it can be very nerve wracking having customer watching and asking questions while you try and fix - always best to fix away from customer - they can be very distracting.

No matter what type of job I was doing in my life, It never bothered me to have customers watching me. Though, other people get nervous when I'm watching them. Maybe it's because I am a Marine. lol

I've been out of the USMC for a long time. But I was in the Marines and maybe that is why it doesn't bother me when people watch me work.

Thanks for sharing this printer repair. I take it you did clean the paper dust out of the insert you showed on the photos? It looked still a bit dirty. And with an air compressor and some clean air it could prevent new paper sensor problems? But of course that only helps when the origin the Printer was placed is kept clean.

Though the cartidge inside printer (canon 2900) it indicates ;INSERT CARTIDGE N TONER WHAT WILL BE THE FAULT

I connect all Cabell properly & cable are good working but I print so computer massage display is please connect your printer what problem please help me
