CIRCA BP Monitor Machine Repair
Received Circa make Blood Pressure Monitor Machine stating problem reading of “SYS mmhg” is stuck around 40 reading and “DIA mmhg” also not increase.
I checked the machine, the reading SYS mmhg is stop on value 33 & DIA mmhg not increase above reading 1. So first of all I removed all the Batteries, it has 4 AA size batteries. Checked on Multimeter all Batteries are proper showing 1.5v indicates good reading.
Still I checked with another set of batteries because some time it shows Voltage is in the range but Current is Drained. But Machine showing same behavior with working good batteries also. Now it is time to disassemble the machine & check inside.
Checked all fittings of pipes nothing found suspected. Sometime Air Leak is also cause the above fault symptom. Reassembled & checked.
Still same symptom. This symptom is because of air leak or air pressure is not buildup.
Checked Voltage on Motor it is showing 3.5v (working Voltage marked on the motor is 6v DC).
Removed all Motor Air pipe fittings, turned on the Machine & checked air flow on motor Nozzle. seems air flow is very slow. May because low Voltage measuring on motor ?? to confirm I connected external 6v power adaptor & checked same effect on 6v also.
Having doubt on motor itself. So for inspect the Motor, I opened top plastic cylinder unit, before opening I seen plastic cylinder is divided in 3 Parts. So mark the red line with marker so that no time is wasted in alignment for refitting after the problem is solved.
After disassembling the motor top plastic cylinder, I checked parts one by one specially Rubber cups which works as diaphragm and are involved in the creation of air pressure. Checked but seems ok no physical damage on rubber cups of fittings.
Checked holes for air out but they are not through, may be some different type of arrangement inside and are molded sealed & cannot be checked. So here I give up more R&D on this Motor, because mater of precise medial use. I ordered the motor with my part supplier by giving this motor as a sample.
After 15 days he is able to arrange the motor for me. I collected motor from his shop.
There is no any marking or Label on the new motor. I am having doubt this motor works or not.
Any way I don’t have any choice further, so I soldered the motor in the machine without any air pipe connection I checked air pressure it is bit higher than old motor. May be it increase the performance after detecting air pressure because one of air pipe is connected on one sensor in the machine.
So now I stopped further thinking & Refitted everything back for checking the performance. After putting batteries, wrapped Pressure bag on my bicep & turned on the machine & It show reading.
I confirm the reading 3 to 4 times; it is showing average reading & compared reading with another different make BP Machine it shows exact reading. it indicates Problem is solved & BP Machine is back to the life. Assembled everything back & machine is ready for pickup.

Good thing that the seller who provided you a new
replacement motor was still able to tell it was the same correct part even though it had no information info label on it!

Wow!! This's top-ten repair i will say,it seems you have an idea what the air pressure from motor shoud be.However i wonder why 6v motor should be used, when voltage usage of monitor is 4.5V Well thanks for sharing.

Not sure! Maybe the voltage increases while in operation to increase RPM of the motor after sensing the initial Air pressure to match some criteria as per the equipments internal programing .

I get in my shop many cases like that and since I do not have any kind of supply source for such motor I gave up and stopped receiving that kind of fault for repair. the device cost about 15 dollars and if I find a source to buy these motor it would not be worth the time and effort spent on the repair on this device. thanks for sharing and have a blessed day
