Completed Another Basic Monitor Repair Course
Today, i have just completed the basic monitor repair and troubleshooting course for four staff from Malaysia Airport Technology (MAT). It was a three days course and mainly touch on how to read CRT monitor schematic diagrams, how to fix blur buster, how to test all the four coils in Monitor, voltage testing, Monitor section identification, how CRT Monitor works, How to pin point to exact location if problem occur, Guiding them on how to troubleshoot and repair on real problem and many more!
One of the participant in fact brought along his faulty 15″ Philips CRT Monitor for repair. The complain of the monitor was bright display with no wording (no character). By referring to the special schematic and some explanation, he managed to locate the fault. It was an open coil located in the supply line to the crt driver IC. A replacement brought the display back again and he was very happy as this is the first time he had solved a Monitor problem.
I encouraged them to continue to learn and practice even after the course so that they can become better in dealing with all the electronic stuff in the future. Here are the photos and a video taken during the 3 days Basic Monitor Repair course:
