Digital Capacitance Leakage Meter Kit
By Jestine Yong on October 3, 2010
This website was recommended by Ibrahim R from Kenya. Many meters out there do not have the capability to test leakage voltage but this one have seven standard test voltages from 10V to 100V, allowing most capacitors to be checked at or close to their rated voltage. This meter could test almost any capacitors found in the market from ceramic, mica, monolithic, metallised polyester or paper, polystyrene, solid tantalum to aluminium electrolytics. If you have owned this meter we would like to hear your review about this tester. You also need to visit the other pages of the websites because it sell other parts too. Please click on the photo to visit the website.

Here is the introduction to the Digital Capacitance Leakage Meter article in the December 2009 issue of Silicon Chip magazine.
Silicon Chip is the magazine that introduced me to electronics. Few years ago I worked in Adelade,South Australia and my host there had a subscription to this magazine. I purchased my MKII 7214 ESR meter kit in the Dick Smith Electronics store just around the corner.

HI Waleed,
From the spec, yes i fully recommend this meter. However i do not have info about whether they have shops in us or not. I suggest that you email the company and check it out. May the good Lord bless your journey and take care of your family while you are in US.

In a followup article, Silicon Chip presents a Capacitor Leakage Adaptor For DMMs. This version provides the same function but instead of a LCD panel, it connects to your DMM for readout.
I have emailed my Australian buddy for a copy of this article. Meanwhile HERE is the circuit diagram and discussion.

hiiiiiii Jestine, i got output of this digital capacitor leakage meter but i have one problem that is when i connected leakage capacitor to meter , then the leakage current of that capacitor its not constant it vary and then comes zero . can u tel me wat is the output of that meter, i have that pdf but that is not sufficient to prove my output is true. hope u will give me reply as soon as possible..........

HI Vikas,
I have not got the meter yet thus I do not know the output voltage. Is this meter good? I mean before the problem appear.

Hi,
anyone has build this tester? Or have info if it is so useful to test leakage in electrolitics and ceramic capacitors? I use insulation tester for capacitors but min voltage is 250v. So I thing this could be useful for low voltage capacitors.
