there is a missing zener diode in the power supply........the brand is samsung and model is ct-21H4L

I have a Samsung Color T.V. model cs20s1v and i already replaced the I.C. TDA8842-S1. So far I got the color doin well on video out at the RCA Connector but, still no color on the screen. I tried to put a monitor to check the input from the I.C. located at the back of the CRT which is the video amplifier and the color is available and functioning well on both input and output of the I.C. But unfortunately there aint color on screen still black and white output. Kindly help me regarding this problem. Tahnks very much

Hi George,

Sorry never come across such problem before thus i could not give any answer to you. However i have read from a TV book saying that a bad crystal may cause the black and white display problem.

Could you elaborate more of the problem. You mean the picture have one horizontal line and then increase in vertical size?

Tahnks for your response regardin my problem of Samsung hitron CRT, Model cs21s4s. But I need help for solution. the problem is, Picture raise horizontally. Vertical line is OK. How can I reduce the horizontally incresede both top and bottom edge for perfect picture.

Hi Mosharraf,

Try change all the cap in the vertical output section (since you said was a horizontal problem). Make sure also the supply voltage to the Vertical IC is stable.

Hello Jestine, I have an old color magnavox tv that says reprogram memory everytime I press the channel up or down. It can get only one channel but it is clear, but it fades then gets clear again. The signal is constantly good as it is cable. I see about 7 rusted resistors around the tuner. Could it be the resistors or is it the eeprom or crystal.

Hi Jorge,

The eeprom data corrupted have higher chances of failure. Check that the crystal have a nice waveform.

Hi, Jestine,

I just bought your LCD monitor repair manual and I am really pleased,
but I have a problem I can not resolve.
Is this: No display simptom, green light on, DC voltage on VCC pin 9 on
IC751 (TL1451AC).
The monitor is a BENQ. I have the diagram, but I don't know why after R787 there is no power or very low. It does not say on the diagram how much the power should be. I have checked the resistor and is measuring about 1k.
There is very low voltage in the gate and drain of Q791.
I have spent many nights trying to repair it but I don;t know what to do any further. I need a bit of help from you. Please. If I succeed to repair this I will also buy the tv repair book as well.
Please if you have a bit of time just give me an idea.

Yes i need the diagram and please email to jestineyong(at)electronicrepairguide.com . What is the DC voltage measured at the VCC pin of TL1451? Is there any AC voltages measured at the output connector pin to the backlight? Did you see any dark/dim images at the screen when check with torch light? I will be leaving for a holiday afterward and will be only available on Saturday night.
